Danish rockers D-A-D have been busily touring throughout their native country and Germany during the summer, with a Turbosound Aspect® system the perfect foil to their left-field variety of rock music.
Originally named Disneyland After Dark - until the Walt Disney Corporation objected - D-A-D is a band well known for its mild eccentricities. Beginning life playing self-styled 'cow punk' (punk infused with a Country & Western flavour), D-A-D's music has now veered more into rock territory, although founder Stig Pedersen continues to plough the furrow of strangeness with his array of custom-built two string bass guitars.

Having deployed their Aspect rig to great effect at the Roskilde festival for the past two years, DPA Soundco has been bringing the superlative power and clarity of the system to D-A-D's fans in indoor venues.
Playing 2000 to 5000 capacity clubs and theatres, the rig comprises 12 Aspect TA-890H mid-highs and 12 TA-890L lows per side, with eight TSW-218 subs, the FOH sound being mixed from a Midas Heritage 3000 console by Paul Hammann.
"We are always trying to find the ultimate audio system for the shows we service," says DPA Soundco's Sten Jensen. "We always prefer to use a point source system for rock music and Aspect's power, clarity and compactness makes it the perfect system for D-A-D."
The versatility of the Aspect system has also been crucial to the tour, considering the variety of venues that it has taken in.
"Paul has been deploying the system in different configurations," Sten continues. "Sometimes four wide, sometimes two wide with fills. With the massive amount of power that Aspect has, he has just been playing with the subs, adding them very gently into the mix. The tour played one long, thin venue where he had a superb hi-fi sound 80 metres back!"
"Aspect is now an established part of the Roskilde festival and, with DPA Soundco using its system on an indoor tour with D-A-D, it is proving yet again how versatile the system is," says Turbosound Sales Director, Rik Kirby.
"With the tour playing in a wide variety of venues, Aspect's ability to provide clear, powerful sound in virtually any situation is again being demonstrated on a nightly basis."
