For the first time in the USA, Turbosound will audition two highly innovative new product ranges at opposite ends of the sound reinforcement spectrum, as well as a selection of its well established lines. Visitors to Infocomm08, taking place in Las Vegas 18-20 June, will also be treated to an advance preview of a brand new range of Turbosound sound contracting loudspeaker products offering great sound quality and contractor-friendly features.
"InfoComm is an exceptionally good showcase for Turbosound," says Brad Stephens from US distributor American Music & Sound. "This year on Booth #3908 we have two very different and exciting new product ranges that we anticipate garnering a large amount of interest."
"We have worked hard to ensure that our product range continues to reflect the needs of the market," adds Turbosound's Managing Director Simon Blackwood, "and this is borne out by how well Flex Array has already been received. The combination of our brand new line array technology alongside Turbosound's proven virtual point source experience provides an incredibly versatile, one-box-fits-all product that is ideal for a huge variety of applications and we're looking forward to demonstrating its potential at InfoComm."
Combining elements of line array theory with virtual point source technology in one product, Flex Array is the first product to offer the possibility to adapt the same loudspeaker system to a wide range of venue types and audience sizes with minimal rental inventory.
Meanwhile, positioned to meet the demands of the style-led, fashionable sector of the fixed installation markets, the new Impact range offers great performance and looks from elegantly designed, paintable IP54 moulded enclosures with line transformer options. All Impact models come with a labour-saving wall bracket with integrated electrical connections.
Turbosound will be demonstrating Flex Array as well as products from the highly acclaimed NuQ professional portable series, alongside the award-winning Aspect® TA-500, TA-890 and TA-880 concert sound loudspeakers in Demo Room N102 each day.
Turbosound's new TCS sound contracting range will also be demonstrated, featuring patent-pending Dendritic waveguides in multiple dispersion options, IP54 weather resistance, choice of white or black finish and self-powered options, all backed up with industry standard EASE data.
About the new products
Flex Array is a medium–scale professional sound reinforcement system that combines elements of Turbosound's patented virtual point source system with well proven line array technology, resulting in a truly versatile loudspeaker product adaptable to a huge variety of venue types. Its rotatable mid/high section provides the key to rapid conversion from line array to point source mode, while two fully integrated rigging systems cater for both vertical and horizontal flown orientations with virtually no external parts.
The all-new Flex Array system has been designed from the ground up, resulting from a three-year development cycle closely related to the development of the Polyhorn™, and utilises Turbosound's patent pending Dendritic horn, which produces a line source element with superior directional qualities together with trademark Turbosound clarity and definition. All neodymium drive units ensure that weight is kept to a minimum for easy trucking and handling.
Flex Array is fully arrayable with flygear integrated into the box for rapid setup with no external parts, or can be used with external yokes and brackets for semi-permanent and fixed installations. The horn-loaded low frequency cabinet utilises a high power neodymium 18" drive unit and can either be flown with mid/highs, or ground stacked. Digitally self-powered versions of both cabinets with integrated lightweight Class D amplifier modules are also available, making Flex Array products ideal for the corporate market as well as for live sound applications.
The Impact series caters for the style-led areas of the fixed install market, building on the success of the Impact 50 and Impact 80 since their launch over a decade ago. Now in elegantly styled, paintable, injection moulded enclosures with IP54 weather resistance, the Impact series loudspeakers are perfectly suited to fixed installations in cafés, bars, houses of worship—particularly sensitive locations, where the audio system needs to be as unobtrusive as possible—and leisure facilities, as well as for corporate events.
The Impact series boasts a very neat and practical mounting solution: a wall bracket with integrated electrical connections for extremely fast and easy installation, allowing brackets to be sited and fixed prior to the loudspeakers being on-site. The Impact 35T, Impact 55T and Impact 65T both feature internal muti-tapped line transformers for use with 70 volt line and 100 volt line distributed systems in larger commercial installations.
The new TCS series of sound contracting loudspeakers is positioned as a comprehensive enhancement to Turbosound's existing TCS Compact range. The series offers a range of contractor-friendly variants including 90°H x 60°V or 60°H x 40°V horn patterns, IP54 weather resistant specification and multiple rigging points.
Most TCS cabinets in the range feature a double-trapezoidal form for tighter, neater-looking flown clusters, including two single 15" bass cabinets configured to fly tidily and conveniently with either 12" or 15" based mid-highs.
