Jersey Live is now in its third year and has grown to become a must-attend event on the island, with the 2006 festival seeing a significant proportion of the island's population, some 8,000 people, in attendance.
Taking place at the Royal Jersey Showground on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd September, Jersey Live 2006 saw a Friday evening line-up added for the first time. This included The Levellers, Sandi Thom, Nick Harper and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
The Saturday saw Snow Patrol headline, supported by The Zutons, The Editors, Milburn, Forward Russia, The On/Offs and several others.
With such a varied line-up performing on an outdoor stage, Turbosound Aspect® was the ideal audio system, which has already proved a major success for sound contractor WE Audio.

The main system comprised flown clusters of 12 TA-890H mid-highs per side, complemented by 12 ground stacked TA-890L lows per side, with four TA-890Hs for front and out fills. Eight TSW-218s subs provided the necessary driving bass, with the entire system driven by XTA DP448s and MC2 amplifiers, controlled by two Midas Heritage 3000 consoles.
Monitors were all TFM-450s and TFM-420s, with a TQ-425/
TFM-450 combo for drum fill. Side fills comprised four TA-890Ls and two TA-890Hs in vertical (B) mode per side. Control was from a further Midas Heritage 3000, although Snow Patrol brought their own Yamaha PM5D.
The weather was cool and dry on the Friday night with a breeze, but the Saturday brought a 20-30 mph crosswind with regular heavy rain showers. Proving once again how Aspect consistently out-performs line arrays in such conditions, the Turbosound system ensured that the audience enjoyed the superb clarity and powerful sound which they had paid to enjoy.

Aspect takes such conditions easily in its stride, as Wayne Barker, managing director of WE Audio, notes: "This is the fourth year we've been involved with Jersey Live and the second year we've used Aspect," he says. "The festival is gaining a great reputation and this can be seen by the level of bands involved.
"I'd like to think that this is, in part, down to the sound. Aspect has proven to have hi-fi quality but with real trouser flapping bass and we've received only positive comments on its performance. It dealt with the strong cross wind and, at times, driving rain quite happily and without any off site noise pollution issues. I'm very happy with the way it all went."
