| OLD LYME,
CONNECTICUT: Turbosound is introducing the NuQ systems
of fully
integrated, networkable sound reinforcement packages
designed for portable
professional audio applications. They are offered
either as digitally self-powered units or as discrete
loudspeakers used in conjunction with optimized Turbosound
controllers and power amplifiers. TurboDrive™
software gives reliable real-time, intuitive control
of Turbosound controllers and powered loudspeakers
individually or over a network.
NuQ systems make exclusive use of advanced neodymium
magnets, low distortion rotatable high-frequency waveguides
and pre-bent plywood construction to provide the highest
possible performance, flexibility, handling and reliability.
Early production units have already been extensively
road-tested and proven by Britannia Row Productions
with David Gilmour and
the Fratellis.
NuQ systems are offered in different sizes and output
capability according
to application, providing consistently high audio
quality with similar voicing between models. The ultra-compact
eight-inch passive two-way NuQ-8 delivers 124dB max
SPL, while the slightly larger ten-inch passive two-way
NuQ-10 clocks in at an impressive 127dB max SPL. The
larger twelve-inch
two-way NuQ-12 and fifteen-inch two-way NuQ-15 are
both switchable
active/passive cabinets delivering 133dB and 135dB
respectively.
All two-way enclosures feature wide dispersion rotatable
Converging
Elliptical Waveguides™ for smooth and even room
coverage, as well as
symmetrically-shaped quasi-trapezoidal cabinets that
allow them to easily
double as monitor wedges. Two complementary low-frequency
cabinets provide sub-bass support: a compact fifteen-inch
front-loaded bass enclosure and a powerful eighteen-inch
bandpass subwoofer. Both are equipped with flush handles,
corner protectors and pole mount sockets for all portable
corporate and audio-visual applications.
Digitally self-powered variants of all models are
also available, offering exactly the same consistently
superb performance from fully integrated, optimally
matched Class D amplifier modules with 96kHz sample
rates, operating at better than 90% efficiency.
