global phenomenon, with tours and installations reaching
every part of the planet. Following is a selection
of current events involving Turbosound's unique point-source
sound system from the summer of 2006.
“A job that no line array could do.”
That’s the verdict of the organisers of Denmark’s
Roskilde festival, where a large Aspect PA was deployed
for the venue’s main Orange Stage - the 15th
successive year that a Turbosound main PA has been
used at the event. READ

Magic was in the air as indie
darlings the Magic Numbers enjoyed a short UK tour
with an Aspect system in February. “It sounds
good: the drums are punchy; the subs sound really
good; and there’s no problem with headroom,”
enthused FOH engineer Joe Harling. READ

 Britannia Row’s newly-acquired TA-890
Aspect system has been the perfect complement
to the complex music that is fundamental to David
Gilmour’s current European tour. As well as
a wide range of indoor venues, the system will be
pleasing huge outdoor audiences in St Marks’

where the Solidarity trade union began the process
that ended with the break up of the Soviet Union and
the fall of the Berlin Wall. READ

The same system was used the following day for a
rally that was part of Europride, a major gay and
lesbian festival which takes place in a different
European city each year.
Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland
was the setting for around 15,000 Harley Davidson
owners from across the globe to parade their machines.
Naturally, music was a key part of the festivities,
with Roy Wood, Suzie Quatro, the Commitments, 3M and
the Counterfeit Stones all enjoying the benefits of
the Aspect system provided by Britannia Row.
Adding yet further proof of the
versatility of Aspect, in July Clifton College in
Bristol hosted a Promenade concert which featured
the talents of opera diva Lesley Garrett, the Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra and the Clifton Choir. Supplied
by regular Aspect user WE Audio, the TA-890 system
provided pinpoint control of the sound, ensuring that
the surrounding residential area wasn’t disturbed
by the high quality audio that the audience was enjoying.
