Turbosound distributor Stage Craft International has been very busy on installation and hire work in conjunction with a large range of religious venues and events.
The biggest of these was the Metro Manila Franklin Graham festival, held in Manila’s Rizal Park towards the beginning of the year, where evangelist Franklin Graham (son of the Reverend Billy Graham) preached to a large audience.
Stage Craft has a long history of servicing this kind of event - previous examples including the 2003 World Meeting of Families, 2001 Manmin World Mission and the 1995 visit of Pope John Paul II to Manila.
"But this was the first time in Stage Craft’s history that almost our entire hire stock of Turbosound speakers was deployed for a single event!" says the company’s Leslie Zaballa.
The main FOH system comprised 24 Flashlight, 24 Floodlight and 22 TSW-718 enclosures, with 16 TMS-3s on delay towers and monitoring via a range of TFM-450 and TXD-15M cabinets.
"The client was very pleased with the setup and quality of the sound,” Leslie continues. “The system was incredibly efficient, providing a clear, high quality sound throughout what is a large and acoustically challenging site."
Meanwhile, Stage Craft has supplied a number of Turbosound enclosures to various religious venues in and around the Philippino capital Manila.
Eight Impact 50s have been supplied for wall mounted infill and stage monitoring at the Roman Catholic San Carlos Seminary, while a further 12 Impact 50s has been supplied to the chapel at the spectacular Shangri-La Mactan island resort - a popular marriage venue thanks to its exclusive surroundings.
A further sale by has been to the Bread of Life Ministries in Quezon City. "Back in 2000, we sold Bread of Life Ministries four TQ-440SPs, which were used as a portable system," says Leslie Zaballa. "But later the basement - where they stored the speakers - was flooded as a result of heavy rain."
Even though they are extremely rugged, not even Turbosound loudspeakers can survive prolonged immersion in water! But the Bread of Life Ministries had known a good thing when they heard it and so immediately ordered further Turbosound loudspeakers as replacements.
"Bread of Life also took the opportunity to upgrade the system," Leslie continues. "They bought two of the newer TQ-445Dps and two TXD-215s as replacements. They were very happy with the performance of the earlier system and so knew that Turbosound was the obvious choice to again deliver the quality they wanted."
