The
Pride of Bilbao Manchester-based
Kelco
carried
out their first installation for the company when they
boarded the vessel Pride of Bilbao, which services a number
of routes between the UK and Spain. Explained Kelco's Dave
Kelland: "In the Galax Lounge, they had a lot of destroyed
speakers which needed replacing, and since they were using a
conventional main left/right system, with rings of infill,
we suggested something more substantial for the front end,
using the existing left/right speakers for
delays." And
so he recommended four HiLight THL-2H
horizontal enclosures with a pair of THL-828
subs at left and right, moving the existing TXD-530s to
delay positions. QSC PowerLights drive the main system, with
Crown wired to the delays, while BSS FDS-355 Omnidrive
Compacts and Augment APS-321s account for the
processing. Dave
Kelland added: "We rewired everything in the Gala Lounge and
made the system multi-functional, redeploying the TMW-212
wedge monitors so they can be used by a five-piece band or a
DJ." Meanwhile, across in the Felix Bar, Kelco supplied and
installed a pair of Impact 121s and redeployed the existing
TSE-118s, the system this time being powered by existing C
Audio amplifiers.
