Cosmic
Bowling, Hiroshima, Japan The
new American concept of Cosmic
Bowling
owes its success to a unique interaction with lighting and
sound, which operate to the beat of the music and tempt
bowlers into another world. Recently
Brunswick, the major bowling equipment manufacturer,
introduced the concept to Japan, opening the first Cosmic
Bowling alley at Hiroshima Park Lane in
Hiroshima. Hiroshima
Park Lane were quick to earmark a main-line touring speaker
as their preferred choice, and opted for the Turbosound
HiLight. The
system demonstration was carried out by Mr Matsuda from the
company Live, and HiLight was promptly given the green light
by the Cosmic Bowling Alley. The
installation has taken place on two floors, using a flown
skeleton THL-811s
and THL-818
system, powered by C Audio RA3001 amplification. Cosmic
Bowling Alley opens at 8.00pm each evening and its
spectacular lighting and unprecedented sound quality are a
fascination for the bowlers. The atmosphere is further
enhanced by a professional DJ show, which is held on the
weekends.
