E'lysée
Montmartre, Paris, France L'Elysee
Montmartre is one of the
premier
venues in Paris for live rock and dance music. It has an
especially close association with the British live music
scene, with 90% of its acts coming from across the
Channel.

Venue:
L'Elysée Montmartre
Location: Paris, France
Venue-type: Concert Hall
Loudspeaker system:
Floodlight TFL-760H
TCS-612s
Impact 80s
Designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 and now a protected
building in the heart of the Montmartre district, L'Elysee
has used Turbosound (Festival system) for the last 10 years,
and was naturally keen to upgrade with the same
manufacturer. Because of strict Health & Safety
regulations, which stated that the SPL reading of the hall
must not exceed 104dB, L'Elysee became one of the first live
venues in Europe to install a distributed PA system.
It is an unusual system combination of Floodlight and TCS
cabinets. The Floodlights are concentrated left, right and
above the stage, while the TCS-612s are flown to distribute
the sound throughout the venue.
One particularly nice touch is the use of motorised mounts
for the two central clusters of TCS-612s. This enables the
speakers to be pointed down the hall for a conventional rock
gig audience, or rotated to face the stage, thereby creating
a dancefloor system for club nights. "We believe we are the
first to use the TCS Series in this application. We use
Floodlight with it and it's a good combination because they
provide the same colour of sound. "
The main bar at L'Elysee is situated at the back of the
hall, and makes a little bit of Turbosound history by
becoming one of the first sites for the new Impact speakers.
Four Impact 80s are wall-mounted here.
