The Herald Inns and Bars-owned chain of Mood venues is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, with each of the venues being transformed into what the company's managing director Kevin Allcock describes as "a softer yet technically advanced environment."

As the programme progresses the Mood chain will be renamed Mood 2, the first to receive the makeover treatment being the Carlisle venue.

Divided into four areas - the Main Room, R'n'B Room, the VIP Red Room and foyer - the club features a range of Turbosound NuQ and TXD loudspeakers.

Derby-based Pro-Technical UK installed the audio system and, in order to give clubbers a taste of the quality on offer inside, installed four Turbosound TXD-151 mid/highs and two TXD-215 subs in the foyer.

From here, proceeding into the main club area, four NuQ-15, four NuQ-10 and four TQ-425 subs give Mood 2's audio a genuine big club feel. These are complemented by a TXD-12M in the DJ booth for monitoring, another featuring as the DJ monitor in the R'n'B Room.

Meanwhile, in the exclusive Red Room, four TXD-121s are complemented by two B-15 subs.

All four systems are controlled by an Allen & Heath IDR8 DSP system, allowing each to function individually or they can work as a single entity.

"We chose Turbosound because of its exceptional performance in even the most demanding of environments," says Richard Anderson, Operation Director, Pro Technical UK. "The speaker designs also complement the interior design of most venues."
