TCS Compact series
TXD series

The first of Turbosound's TCS Compact series to be installed in the UK feature in two recently opened theme bars - in London and Peterborough - forming the central element of the venues' new audio systems, designed and installed by AV specialist, Marquee Installations.

At Reflex in the City of London, an 80s revival club-bar with a chrome and neon interior, Marquee's system is designed to be capable of generating a full-on party atmosphere. A city bar in the early evenings, the venue transforms into a lively club later at night, and can accommodate around 400 people. The main dance floor system is configured around 4 x TCS-121C loudspeakers, which are mounted in a one-in-each-corner pattern, and are supported in the lower frequencies by a pair of Turbosound TXD-115 sub-bass units. Marquee's other TCS Compact installation is in Peterborough at Flares, which features a funky 70s theme, and has been installed with 6 x TCS-121C loudspeakers, complemented by 2 x TXD-215 double-15" bass cabinets.

Mark Brown, managing director of Marquee Installations, commented:

"We have been doing business with Turbosound for some years, and have successfully used the company's QLight™ and TXD loudspeakers in a number of installations. For us, the new TCS Compacts offer a similarly attractive price-performance proposition, but with more versatile rigging and mounting arrangements, and improved aesthetics. This is particularly important in our market, as it's heavily driven by architects and interior designers, and so it was a natural progression for us to use the TCS Compacts for these new installations. With the same form factor and performance as the proven TXD products, but more designer-friendly aesthetics and rigging flexibility, the decision was a no-brainer. We look forward to specifying TCS Compacts in a number of upcoming projects and, among the wide range of products, the TCS-101C, with its 10" driver and rotatable horn flare, looks an interesting offering. It should prove ideal for our market place, where customers continually demand discrete visual profiles, combined with high audio performance."

About the TCS Compact series
Introduced from the outset as a multi-model range, Turbosound's TCS Compact series offers contractor-specific features, encompassing installation, audio performance and aesthetics. The loudspeakers are designed to offer contractors a range of installation alternatives, and can be supplied as standard in black-painted cabinets or with an all-over-white finish. Available as weather-resistant variants to IP54, they can also be ordered in custom colours to suit specific interior design and architectural requirements.

The range comprises the TCS-081C, TCS-101C, TCS-121C and the TCS-151C, fitted with 8", 10", 12" and 15" LF drivers respectively, together with the TCS-115C and TCS-118C single 15" and single 18" bass cabinets. TCS-215C double 15" and TCS-218C double 18" bass enclosures round out the range. Offering accurate pattern control to ensure the installed result is as predictable as possible. TCS Compact two-way models feature optimised passive crossovers on all two-way models incorporating high-frequency protection circuits. The loudspeakers are fitted as standard with a variety of rigging and mounting-bracket options, including OmniMount™ compatibility, and are available with optional high power line transformers to ensure straightforward incorporation into 70v/100v line distributed installations.
