Venue-type: Bar / restaurant
Loudspeaker system:
4 x Impact 50

Stobelia, located within an old and fascinating period building of the City's university, is aimed squarely at the students and lecturers of the campus.

Chosen to complete the sound reinforcement installation was Noretron Audio Ltd, who specified a system comprised of Impact loudspeakers.

Noretron's Veli Eronen, commented, "The requirements for the sound system were very challenging because of the concrete hall-type ceilings and walls. Juha Vuorela, operations manager for the project, wanted a very hi-fi sound to create a relaxing atmosphere within Stobelia."

The solution was a cluster of four Impact 50 loudspeakers placed centrally on the ceilings of the three small component rooms of the bar, to give good coverage from a discreet set up. Due to the age and character of the building, unobtrusive speaker cabinets were also a prime concern in the installation, so as not to detract from the original architecture.

The sound reinforcement set-up favoured the use of Lab Gruppen amplification. A Lab Gruppen LAB 1200 and LAB 1300 powered the Impact 50's and also enabled each room to have a separate sound level setting.

Eronen commented, "The final result was perfect audio coverage to each seat in the 130-cover meeting place and a very satisfied client. The bar has been open for a couple of months now and is very popular with all who attend the university."
