The 96 in the model name denotes the 90° horizontal by 60° vertical coverage pattern produced by the cabinet's dendritic waveguide — a coverage shape suited to wide, medium-throw outdoor listening areas such as stadium concourses, transport interchanges, theme parks and exterior hospitality venues.

The dendritic waveguide is a Turbosound install signature that produces consistent directivity across the pass-band, holding together off-axis where lower-grade cabinets typically collapse.
