About this product

Road Case for 1 TBV118L Subwoofer

The TBV118L-RC1 is the Berlin Series active cardioid flown subwoofer, an 18-inch long-excursion low-frequency cabinet engineered to extend the sub-bass response of the TBV123 main array down to 30 Hz while delivering an additional 15 to 18 dB of rear rejection through a single-cabinet cardioid technique using internal DSP and a secondary rear-firing driver. The primary 18-inch transducer features a 4-inch high-temperature aluminium voice coil and a vented pole-piece for sustained thermal stability under long-duty programme material, and operates in precisely-controlled phase opposition with the rear element to produce up to 142 dB peak SPL at 1 m on the audience axis. Onboard Class-D amplification provides 2,500 W RMS to the primary driver and 600 W to the rear cardioid element, derived from the same high-efficiency switch-mode supply with active power-factor correction for stable performance on long mains runs. A Powercon TRUE1 input feeds AC with link-through to additional cabinets, while audio and processing data arrive over a single Cat5e link from the array head-amplifier rack with sub-millisecond latency, ensuring that cardioid steering remains coherent across the array. Internal DSP manages the cardioid algorithm, FIR phase pre-correction, multi-band peak-and-RMS limiting, infrasonic high-pass filtering and pattern-coherence corrections derived from the rigging-pin-encoded geometry of the adjacent cabinets. Cabinet construction is 18 mm Baltic birch with a textured polyurethane finish, internal cross-bracing to minimise panel resonance above 80 Hz, and a perforated steel grille backed by acoustic foam. The rigging hardware is mechanically and dimensionally integrated with the Berlin Series main-array flybar, allowing the cabinet to be flown at the top of a hybrid array or as an independent flown sub-stack to a 10:1 ultimate-strength safety factor. Per-cabinet remote monitoring of input level, amplifier temperature, fan status and current draw is available via the Turbosound control software. Typical deployment is festival main systems, arena touring, large outdoor concerts and high-SPL corporate AV where on-stage low-frequency rejection is critical. Designed and engineered in the U.K.
